Collector and purveyor of antique and vintage tools, transportation toys, books and other items that I somehow end up purchasing.

About Us
Awkward Antiques is my small foray into antique and vintage selling to help shift the tide of tool and toy hoarding from outflow to inflow.

I was bitten by the rust bug fairly early in life when I started working on older trucks and cars. This grew into finding, buying, fixing up and eventually selling a wide variety of vehicles in high school and college. This included Autocar, Diamond T, Ford, International Harvester, Kenworth, Mack and Peterbilt.

I put off most collecting for several years while getting my education, culminating in a Ph.D. and developing my career as an an economist. I currently work in the utility industry as a policy analyst and adjunct professor teaching economics. Meanwhile, the rust bug reinfected me and since my microscopic yard and workshop cannot support anything close to a Mack, I branched out to antique toys, tools and anything that gets me to pry my wallet open.
